CES 2022 has seen some strange innovations so far, and one among them is the prototype WiFi router from TP-Link dubbed the Archer AXE200 Omni router.
The Prototype router features four antennas that fold out when switched on and automatically rotate around to find and provide the best possible signal for its users. The necessity and functionality of this feature are still debatable but the router is sure to provide some amusement to customers when they move around the room and the router’s antennas follow their movements.
However, when it comes to hardware and specs, the AXE200 is no joke. The WiFi 6E enabled router features tri-band speed, with the addition of a 6Ghz band in addition to the existing 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands. The new WiFi 6E has latency levels of 2-6 milliseconds which enables users to use this new band for low-latency applications such as mobile AR/VR, gaming, 4k/8k video streaming, etc.
For customers looking for a convention yet powerful WiFi router, TP-Link is also launching the Archer AXE300 quad-band router, which shares the same extraterrestrial design as the Archer AXE200. The AXE300 features WiFi 6E with two (duplicate) 5GHz bands in addition to the 6Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands. The price for this device is yet to be unveiled however TP-link has stated that it will be available in the market in Q2 of 2022.
