OPPO just announced the launch of the new OPPO A16K entry-level smartphone for the Indian market. The company says that the device caters to those looking for a lightweight and stylish device without blowing a hole in their wallet.

Accordingly, the OPPO A16K measures only 7.85mm thick and weighs just 175g, despite packing a fairly large battery of 4230mAh capacity. The weight gets even more impressive when you consider its 6.52″ screen size, which also comes with All-day Eye Care comprising features such as Sunlight Display, Moonlight Display, and AI Smart Backlight for a healthier and more comfortable viewing experience.

Under the hood, you get the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC and its performance is further enhanced by System Booster. The feature is basically a collection of system-level optimizations that help keep the interface stutter-free at all times. Similarly, the phone’s battery also comes with specific features such as Super Night-time Standby, Optimized Night Charging, and Superpower Saving Mode to maximize its efficiency.

For photography, there’s a single 13MP shooter at the rear with an f/2.2 aperture. It is accompanied by a 5MP selfie camera up front with Front HDR and natural skin retouching. There are also three new night filters to help users capture city nightscapes in different styles and moods.

Moving on to the software department, where the OPPO A16K boots into ColorOS 11.1 out of the box, which may be disappointing for some considering Android 12 has been out for months now. Still, the OS comes packed with features like FlexDrop, Three-finger Translate, and Freeform Screenshot to help make up for it, so there’s that.

And last but not the least, the OPPO A16K comes with an IPX4 splashproof rating for protection against the elements.

The OPPO A16K will be available in India in Blue, White, and Black colors, at INR 10,490 for the 3GB RAM+32GB ROM variant, with no cost EMI up to 3 months across all leading banks. Customers can purchase the device across all channels starting today.
