Indian audio accessories maker Defy is exploring the smartwatch market with its first smartwatch. The company has released Defy Space in India at an introductory price of Rs. 1,699 ($23).
Defy is an indigenous brand created by Guru Randhawa, a renowned fashion designer. Defy launched new audio products last year, and its new smartwatch has a 1.69-inch (240 x 280 pixels) full-touch LCD, with a square dial. More than 100 cloud-based watch faces are available and customizable.
There are multiple sports modes including running, skipping, basketball, walking, climbing, cycling, football, badminton, swimming, and yoga. The Defy Space has some important sensors like heart rate, and blood glucose (SpO2). It is rated IP68 for water resistance. There are several notifications and features in the Defy Space like call, text, and social media notifications, guided breathing, music, and camera controls. There is no mention of battery life for the new smartwatch, which will be available from January 15.
The new DEFY Space will be sold on Flipkart with introductory price of Rs. 1,699 ($23) but there is no word yet when the product will go on sale. The company says its maiden smartwatch was designed for the youth whose active lifestyle is bound to be accentuated by the smartwatch and its numerous features. It is a health and fitness smart wearable that is rugged and designed with rigor, style, and intelligence.
