OPPO released the Find N quite recently in December last year as its very first foldable phone, and the company now appears to be gearing up for the release of another, only this time it will be a Galaxy Z Flip3-like clamshell model.

The information comes from tipster Mukul Sharma (via 91mobiles) who says that OPPO has now started working on its first-ever foldable smartphone with a clamshell/flip design. The device is expected to hit the shelves sometime in Q3 2022. Its name hasn’t been finalized as of yet but it’s expected to be launched under the umbrella of the OPPO Find series.

The pricing will reportedly be lower than that of the Galaxy Z Flip3.

While foldables with the usual Find N-like form are great, they’re extremely expensive, even surpassing regular flagship phones with a huge margin. And that’s where clamshell foldables become more important strategically — being priced much lower and featuring more traditional designs, they sell a lot more.

However, OPPO is working on yet another foldable smartphone and it’s expected to be a successor to the current OPPO Find N. A launch timeline is unavailable for now but we can expect it to go live in late 2022 or early next year, around the same time the Find N was launched.

For now, this is all the information at hand regarding OPPO’s upcoming foldables, but we should be seeing more leaks and rumors in the coming days, so stay tuned.
