Xiaomi had just launched the Redmi K50G smartphone in China. It is the company’s latest gaming flagship handset in the market. But during its launch event, the brand also launched another product. It is the new Redmi Router AX5400, which is the company’s first gaming router.

According to official notes, the Chinese smartphone maker launched the Router AX5400 to “provide the best gaming experience, whether PC or mobile gaming.” The new router will offer flagship level 2.5G Ethernet port that can be used specifically for gaming or for external NAS device plug ins. Furthermore, the newly launched router is also capable of adapting to operator’s gigabit fiber speed as well. It is designed with gaming in mind, so it also features an aesthetic fitting of this term.

Looking at the router, it sports RGB lighting that offers 16 million colors along with game acceration plug in support. Furthermore, it is a Wi-Fi 6 enabled router and supports hybrid Mesh network compatible with all of the other Xiaomi Wi-Fi 6 routers. In other words, it supports full coverage for your homes if you’re running multiple routers. Under the hood, the Router AX5400 is powered by a Qualcomm chipset.

Redmi

This chipset is a dual core 64 bit chipset that has a 1.0GHz CPU alongside an independent 1.0GHz NPU. The router is also equipped with 6 independent high performance FEMs, which are basically signal amplifiers. Interestingly, it can also automatically recognize compatible Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones to enable reduction of delay by up to 20 percent. The Router A5400 will be available in China for 599 Yuan (roughly 95 US Dollars), and will be available for a discounted price of 549 Yuan (roughly 86 US Dollars) during its first launch.
