The announcement came at the Sennheiser Consumer Innovation press event where the new owner of the brand was made public. The change in ownership will not affect the branding or products of the Sennheiser, however, Sonova Holdings AG group will now be using Sennheiser’s name for their future products.

For those unaware, Sonova Holding AG group is a Swiss multinational company headquartered in Stäfa that specializes in hearing care solutions. It is one of the largest providers in the sector worldwide. The group operates through its core business brands Phonak, Unitron, Hansaton, Advanced Bionics, and AudioNova.

“Sennheiser and Sonova share many values and will leverage various complementary strengths,” says Martin Grieder, Sonova GVP Consumer Hearing. “Both brands have a passion and dedication to high-quality audio with innovation at the heart of the business,” he added.

Premium headphones, audiophiles, enhanced hearing, and soundbars are going to be the four key product segments for the new venture. Sonova Consumer Hearing has announced that the company has plans to launch new products in all four of its categories in 2022, including new products in its flagship MOMENTUM range.

The Swiss hearing care solutions company also plans on leveraging Sennheiser’s expertise in the TWS segment, as it believes the technology behind true wireless headphones and hearing aids is also converging to create a rapidly growing enhanced hearing segment.
