Design
The Honor Magic4 and the Honor Magic4 Pro have exactly the same design. It includes a curved screen on the front side, as well as a glass back with a huge circular camera module just like the latest Huawei Mate Series phones, and very narrow bezels around the displays. There is only one difference when it comes to aesthetics: the punch hole. While the vanilla version has a single punch hole placed in the middle, the Pro variant has a dual punch hole on the upper left corner of the screen because there is an additional sensor for 3D facial recognition. Another important difference that does not regard the design is the IP68 certification making the Pro variant waterproof and dustproof, while the original Honor Magic4 has the IP54 certification for dust resistance and splash resistance.
Display
The Honor Magic4 and the Pro variant have very similar displays, but not exactly the same. The difference lies in the number of pixels of the panels: the Pro version has a resolution of 1312 x 2848 pixels, while the vanilla version has a resolution of 1224 x 2664 pixels. We already mentioned the only other difference between these panels: the punch hole. For the rest, they come with the same specifications: they are OLED panels with a diagonal of 6.81 inches, one billion colors, the LTPO technology enabling an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, the HDR10+ certification, an in-display fingerprint reader, and a peak brightness up to 1000 nits.
Specs & Software
Even the hardware department of these two devices is the same. They are powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform built at 4 nm and running at a max frequency of 3 GHz: it is the best processor you can currently get in the Android world. The chip is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage in the base variant and 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage in the most expensive variant. The performance is very high and they are among the fastest and smoothest phones you can currently purchase. They also run Android 12 out of the box, customized by Magic UI 6 and including Google Mobile Services in the global market.
Camera
The most important difference between the Honor Magic 4 and the Honor Magic4 Pro is the camera setup. Both the phones come with a pair of 50 MP cameras including the main sensor and an ultrawide lens. The vanilla version has an 8 MP periscope sensor with 5x optical zoom, while the Pro comes with an amazing 64 MP periscope sensor with 3.5x optical zoom, definitely better than the sensor found on the vanilla version. Further, the Pro variant adds a TOF 3D camera for depth calculation. Note that the Pro version also comes with a hardware sensor for 3D facial recognition, while the vanilla version does not.

Battery
Despite being more affordable, the Honor Magic4 comes with a bigger battery and it will provide a longer battery life. On the other hand, you can get a faster charging technology with the Pro, thanks to a power of 120W. Further, it provides fast wireless charging with a power of 100W, while the vanilla version does not support wireless charging at all.
Price
You have to spend €900/$985 if you want the Honor Magic4, while the Pro variant costs €1100/$1205. The two handsets differ for the IP certification, the display resolution, the cameras, and the charging technologies. Which one would you pick?
