Many companies are adopting a hybrid working model instead of bringing employees back to the office full-time in an effort to let the employees keep the benefit of working from home such as less time spent commuting and healthier family life, while also allowing workers to collaborate in-person some of the time.
With this purpose in mind, Dynabook’s new Tecra A40-K and A50-K laptops come with several upgrades over the last generation to facilitate this new hybrid work model.
The Tecra A40-K laptop comes with a 14-inch narrow-bezel screen and measures just 18.9mm, making the laptop versatile and suited for professionals who like to move around. The device comes with a webcam with a privacy shutter, a backlit keyboard, and a large click pad which can optionally be outfitted with a fingerprint reader.
The Tecra A40-K, on the other hand, features a bigger 15-inch screen with narrow bezels and is quite thin overall at 19.9mm. The device has a full-size backlit keyboard, a webcam with a privacy shutter, and a large click pad, which can optionally be outfitted with a fingerprint reader.
Under the hood, the laptops feature Intel’s 12th Gen P-Series i5 and i7 processors with optional Intel Iris Xe graphics and up to 64GB of memory.
The devices get a lot of options when it comes to connectivity featuring WiFi 6E, Thunderbolt 4, a full-size HDMI for seamlessly connecting to an external monitor, Gigabit LAN, 3.5mm audio jacks, USB-A ports, and a microSD card reader.
To facilitate video conferencing, the Tecra A40-K and Tecra A50-K feature dual mics with a new AI noise reduction function and stereo speakers with DTS audio processing for clear and crisp sound. The devices feature an HD camera with face authentication. The devices feature Dynabook’s proprietary BIOS which acts as an added security layer to mitigate BIOS-level security threats, and the laptops also meet Microsoft’s strict Secured-core PC requirements.
The Dynabook Tecra A40-K will start at $1,019.99 and the Tecra A50-K starts at $969.99. They will be offered in multiple configurations through the company’s official website and its resellers. (via Techradar)
