Fossil is making significant inroads into the Indian smartwatch market with the unveiling of its range of Skagen Falster Gen 6 and Wear OS smartwatches in the country. This comes on the back of the unveiling last year of the Fossil Gen 6 lineup in India. The Fossil Skagen Falster Gen 6 smartwatches sport a slightly different design from the Fossil Gen 6 lineup and added features. The Skagen Falster Gen 6 is priced at Rs. 21,995 (~$290) and is available via Skagen’s website.
The Fossil Skagen Falster Gen 6 smartwatches sport a stainless steel build, a 1.28-inch AMOLED screen, and a 42mm case size. The smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ SoC. The Skagen Falster Gen 6 has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The magnetic charging port of the Skagen Falster Gen 6 supports rapid charging and an array of sensors is available for monitoring. These include heart rate, SpO2, compass, gyroscope, and altimeter.
As specified, the Skagen Falster Gen 6 smartwatches will run on Wear OS 2 out of the box but will be updated to Wear OS 3 subsequently. The smartwatch is water-resistant up to 34 ATM. Connectivity is via Bluetooth 5.0 LE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC SE.
The Skagen Falster Gen 6 in India will be available in 5 color variants with basically the same size and design. There are several strap options also available including leather, silicone, and Skagen’s stainless steel mesh. The Skagen Falster Gen 6 smartwatch is also compatible with existing 20mm straps and offers greater customization options.
