Phone accessories and audio products manufacturer Anker is expanding its business to include the manufacture of 3D printers. The AnkerMake M5 3D printer which has just been launched on Kickstarter is Anker’s first-ever 3D printer – and it packs some exciting features with it. The AnkerMake M5 is primed to challenge the leading 3D printing brands for the top spot in the field.AnkerMake M5 3D Printer

Anker has a rich vein of trusted products from phone chargers to audio products. It hopes to leverage the excellent capabilities of the AnkerMake M5 to break into the 3D printing market. The AnkerMake M5 is priced at $499 as an introductory offer but the original price is $759, according to the company. Some of the innovations that come with the printer include a smart webcam that provides video and control services during the printing process. The webcam can automatically pause a print job when it observes deviation from the printing quality expected. It will also notify the user about the problem.AnkerMake M5 3D Printer

The AnkerMake M5 is claimed to print faster than any of the current brands in the market. Anker even claims that the printer is five times faster than any of the competing brands in the market. Anker also says that the 3D printer can easily be set up from the box and straightaway proceed to 250mm/sec printing. The implications of this fast printing model can be outstanding in the field. Most of the current 3D printers can only boast 50mm/sec speeds or less and the AnkerMake M5 could change all that.

While it is not clearly stated the mechanism that accounts for the enhanced speed of the printer, Anker points to some innovative measures that could have enhanced the printing speed. It says the Y-axis build plate is being moved by a fancy stepper motor with high subdivision drivers and two belts. In addition, advanced algorithms for a seamless process are also part of the innovations.AnkerMake M5 3D Printer

It is unclear how durable the AnkerMake M5 is and how the expectations will be matched by the product itself. The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign is aimed at providing the needed investment to drive the delivery of the product. A September date has been set for the first deliveries and we hope that Anker will follow the timeline.
