As more and more ultrabooks are launched in China bearing Intel’s latest 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs, it was about time for laptop manufacturers to bring their Intel 12th Gen laptops to the global market.

After months of waiting, today, Lenovo has finally taken the initiative to launch its first Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake ultrabook in the global market, the Lenovo Thinkbook 14 Gen 4+. The Lenovo Thinkbook 14 Gen 4+ was officially announced in Malaysia today and is now available for purchase starting from only RM4239 (999 USD).

If the design of the ultrabook looks familiar, then your instinct serves you correct as this laptop was actually launched in China earlier in March 2022 bearing the model name, Lenovo ThinkBook 14+ instead. However, the global variant(Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+) has more customisation options compared to the China variant.

Let’s start with the processors under the hood. Compared to the 2 options available on the China variant, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is configurable with 6 Intel 12th Gen CPU options, namely the Core i5-1235U (15W), i5-1240P (28W), i5-12500H (45W), i7-1255U (15W), i7-1260P (28W), and the i7-12700H (45W).

To facilitate a more efficient work environment, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is also equipped with the latest LDDR5 RAM(8GB/16GB/32GB options) and with optional WiFi 6E support to keep your workflow smooth and fast. The ultrabook is also configurable to include an RTX 2050 graphics card onboard for those who want to do gaming in their free time.

Moving onto the screen, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is a noticeable upgrade from its predecessor as it can now be equipped with a 14 inch 16:10, up to 400 nits, 90Hz, 100% sRGB, 2.8K (2880 × 1800) IPS Display. As for the front-facing webcam, users now have the option to opt for a 1080p webcam for better video calls as well.

As for the battery, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is equipped with 47Wh and 62Wh battery options for buyers to select. The laptop supports up to 100W USB-C fast charging and comes with Windows 11 Home preinstalled on the device.

Last but not least is the build. Lenovo claims the ultrabook is easily portable as it starts at just 1.50kg and is 15.9mm thin. On the durability front, buyers will be glad to know that the ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ features solid and robust aluminium build. The laptop is equipped with dual fans and support for Intelligent cooling to help prevent the laptop from overheating.

Despite its relatively thin and light chassis, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ includes a wide variety of port selections which include one USB-C Thunderbolt™ 4 port, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (full-function: USB/DP/PD), two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI 2.0 port, one RJ45 port, a 3-in-1 Micro SD card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
