Polar has announced two GPS smartwatches that will be a great tool for both amateur and professional runners. The Polar Pacer smartwatch is priced at $199.90 while the Pacer Pro comes at $299.90. They are both designed to help runners scale up their everyday performance.
Both the Polar Pacer and Pacer Pro come with significant improvements from their predecessors. They offer 5MB of RAM which promises a better processor performance and overall user experience. The issue of lag among previous Polar smartwatches has been quite prevalent. Polar’s Precision Prime heart rate sensor is also present in both models. The minimalist design, battery life, and push notifications outlook are similar for the two smartwatches. Their batteries offer up to 7 days of activity on a full charge. The weights, straps, and colorways are however different for the two Polar smartwatches.
The Polar Pacer is designed for novice runners at different levels of skill. It offers a new walking test that will estimate the user’s aerobic fitness after 15 minutes of walking. The Polar Pacer Pro, on the other hand, comes with more strenuous exercises and running performance tests. On the Pro model, their navigational features and a barometer measure the runner’s power values via the wrist.
The Polar Pacer and Pacer Pro are available via Polar’s website and retail stores, although the Pacer is only available for preorder at this time. The first deliveries of the Polar Pacer will take place around May 2022.
