The Galaxy M31 was one of the best budget smartphones in India when it debuted in March 2020. Due to its unique positioning, it was the first to receive many software features after its launch. In fact, it was the first Samsung budget smartphone to get the Android 11 update. Now, it has also started receiving the Android 12 update.

According to SamMobile, Samsung has started seeding the Android 12 update for Galaxy M31. The latest version of Android for the phone arrives with One UI 4.1 and March 2022 security patches.

The update is currently live in India. Users in this region can head over to Settings > Software update >  Download and install to check the availability of the OTA upgrade on their unit. The update should make its way to other countries in the coming days.

Android 12 is the second major software update for the Galaxy M31. As the device is not eligible for Samsung‘s three/four years of OS updates, it will not receive any new Android update hereafter. However, users can expect security updates for around two more years.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 debuted running Android 10 with specs like a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, Exynos 9611 SoC, 64MP (wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP (macro) + 5MP (depth) quad-camera setup, 32MP selfie camera, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, 6,000mAh battery, and 15W fast charging support.
