Xiaomi’s spin-off brand POCO has scheduled to release the POCO F4 GT on April 26. The smartphone has been through a lot of leaks and certifications and we now know plenty of details about the device. In the article, we’ll do a roundup of all the details learned so far about the POCO F4 GT.

Design and Display

For starters, the POCO F4 GT will be nothing but a rebranded version of the Redmi K50G a.k.a K50 Gaming that launched a few months back in the home market, China. That said, the specifications of the phone will be similar.

POCO F4 GT roundup

The Indian version of the POCO F4 GT carries the model number 21121210G. Since it will be a gaming phone, it will feature some graphical patterns on the back. It will have a camera island that has an “X” shaped theme and the same will be seen on the entire back. The LED flash on the phone will be placed in an actual flash-like cutting. It will also come with shoulder trigger buttons on the right spine. Just like the K50G, the F4 GT is expected to have a metallic frame and feature an AG Glass finish on the back.

The smartphone is expected to come with a 6.67-inch OLED display with Full-HD+ resolution. It will have a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The screen is expected to come with support for HDR10+ and have a DCI-P3 color gamut.

Cameras on the POCO F4 GT

The POCO F4 GT will come with a triple camera system at the back. The sensors will be placed onto the fancy camera island, which as said above, will have an “X” shaped theme to it.

The camera setup will go by a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with 120-degree FoV, and lastly a 2MP macro unit. On the front, it will have a 20MP Sony IMX596 sensor and is expected to come with Xiaomi’s AI beautification features and filters.

Hardware and Software

One of the major highlights of the POCO F4 GT will be the hardware. The smartphone was spotted on Geekbench recently, and as you’d expect, the device tapped the impressive 3555 number on multi-core and 1235 points on the single-core test. All thanks to the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, inside the phone.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, for those unaware, is an octa-core chipset based on Qualcomm’s 4nm node. It has four cores clocked @1.79GHz, three cores with a clock speed of @2.60Ghz, and the last core clocked @3.00GHz.

The smartphone will come with 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It is also expected to come with dual second-generation stainless steel vapor chambers with a total area of 4,860mm². Just like the K50G, it is expected to have a graphene heat spreader. It will come with shoulder trigger buttons that will be helpful for gamers.

Fueling the system will be a 4,700mAh battery with fast charging support. We can expect it to come with a 120W fast charging technology that will fully charge the phone in less than 17 minutes. Apart from this, you can expect connectivity features like Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, and dual-SIM support with 5G connectivity. Lastly, it will come with Android 12 OS out of the box with POCO skin above MIUI 13.

Pricing, Colors, and Availability

The POCO F4 GT’s pricing isn’t tipped yet, but considering that it arrived at a starting price of CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 38,900/ $515) in China, we can safely expect it to start above Rs. 40,000/$525 in India.

POCO F4 GT colors

The phone is expected to launch in Black, Blue, Silver, and even in a Mercedes AMG-themed edition. However, the chances of it coming in the Mercedes special edition in India are pretty thin. After the release, it is expected to be on sale in the next few days.
