OnePlus has been pushing out the beta version of OxygenOS 12 (Android 12) for some of its devices. Last time, the OnePlus 8 lineup and the 9R received the open beta releases, and now, the OnePlus Nord 2 is getting the open beta update.
OnePlus has announced the OxygenOS 12 Beta 1 based on Android 12 for the OnePlus Nord 2 models in India. Those who own the phone can try out the beta update and experience it and offer feedback on the OnePlus community.
The update is sized at 4.57GB and is for all Nord 2 models, including the Pac-Man Special Edition. However, OnePlus has stated that the upgrade may remove some of the features on Pac-Man Edition devices. Hence, OnePlus has recommended Pac-Man model owners skip this update for now. But not to worry, as they can update to the new version at a later stage.
What does the update bring?
The update brings a bucket full of features to the phone. The company has mentioned all the key updates on the forum page. Some of the changes include the inclusion of HyperBoost for games, WLB 2.0, optimized Always-On-Display, adjustable levels of Dark mode, and others. Here are the details of the key updates.

Issues you might face
- You might be unable to use Face Unlock in the dark after turning on Brighten screen in dim light through Settings.
- Fortnite will crash when playing the game.
Download & Install the Beta Update
- Download the update – Click here to Download OOS 12 Beta 1 (Android 12).
- After downloading, open Settings on the OnePlus Nord 2.
- Tap on System.
- Select System Updates
- Click on Local upgrade and select the OTA package that you just downloaded.
- Install.
