Last month, Motorola announced the Motorola Edge 30 smartphone in Europe. New information reveals that the Lenovo-owned company will announce the smartphone in the second week of this month (May) in India. The specs of the smartphone are not secret since it has already been launched in Europe.

According to Mukul Sharma (aka Stufflistings), Motorola will be announcing the Motorola Edge 30 on May 12 in India. The tipster claimed that it would be the thinnest and lightest 5G phone in its segment. He added that it will be arriving as India’s first Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset powered smartphone.

The Motorola Edge 30 has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution. The screen also supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colors, and HDR10+. It has a 32-megapixel camera for capturing selfies. The back panel of the phone has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2-megapixel depth assist lens, and a dual-LED flash unit.

The Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset is present under the hood of the Edge 30. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of storage. It runs on the Android 12 OS and MIUI 13.

The handset houses a 4,020mAh battery that supports 33W charging. It has a side-facing fingerprint scanner. Lastly, it features a water-repellent chassis. There is no word on the pricing of the device for the Indian market. In Europe, it carries a price tag of 449 euros (Rs 36,120).

In related news, Motorola has confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on May 10 in China. It is unclear what the brand is going to announce on the said date. Hopefully, newer reports will spill more information on it.
