A Sony UK teaser of an exciting announcement to be made on May 12 has been linked to the WH-1000XM5. The unreleased Sony headphones WH-1000XM5 previous images aligned with that of the teaser. Although there was no specific mention of the model WH-1000XM5 in the teaser, the images are in sync with previous leaks of the device.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 will support Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and deliver up to 40 hours of battery life. The device will support a traditional connection via a headphone jack and quick-charging capability. The Sony WH-1000XM5, as per leaked specs, can be fully charged within 210 minutes (3.5 hours). The upcoming headphones are also expected to deliver spotless audio with cutting-edge technology. Noise cancellation functionality is expected to be present in the WH-1000XM5, as well as a comfortable design.
For now, Sony has not yet released the official specs sheet for the WH-1000XM5. We also are in the dark about the pricing and global availability of the product. It is however expected that the high benchmarks connected with the Sony brand will be sustained with this new offering. There has been some criticism of the pricing of similar Sony headphones. It remains to be seen whether Sony will sell the new headphones at a competitive and affordable price. The Sony WH-1000XM5 will offer significant improvements from its predecessor, the XM3.
