US electric scooter manufacturer Fluid has unveiled its latest ultra-portable and powerful foldable electric scooter, the Mosquito. The Miami-based company claims that the Mosquito is the most powerful portable e-scooter available. The lightweight and minimalist design, as well as its versatility and $900 price tag, could stand the Mosquito out.
Fluid began operations in 2018 and it has an array of electric scooters suited for different segments. There are casual designs, advanced, touring, and expert e-scooter models in the Fluidfreeride lineup. Some of its successful models include the Horizon, Apollo, and Wolf e-scooters. The Mosquito is being projected as another best-selling model from the US manufacturer.
The Mosquito e-scooter weighs just 13kg and comes with a folding design that makes it compact to haul around. The Mosquito’s handlebars are also foldable so that the scooter can be easily stored in compact spaces. The e-scooter is capable of carrying loads up to 120kg – up to 10 times its weight.
The Mosquito features dual spring-based suspensions, physical brakes, 8 x 2″ tires, and electric braking. There is a color display at the center, bright LED lights at both ends, and an integrated electric horn. The Mosquito is powered by a 500W electric motor with a peak output of 700W. The motor delivers a top speed of 40km/h while its 48V/9.6Ah battery yields a range of 32km on a single charge. The Mosquito’s battery can be fully charged in 5 hours, and there are no swappable batteries.
The Mosquito ultra-portable and powerful e-scooter are already available via Fluid’s website for $900. The US is the primary market for the Mosquito but other markets may get the e-scooter subsequently.
