Nothing Phone (1) is likely to launch soon in India. Its landing page went live on the Flipkart retailer site recently. Now, the device has bagged approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in the country. It appears that it will land in India first before arriving in other markets.

As can be seen in the above tweet by tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Nothing Phone (1) with model number A063 has received approval from the BIS authority of India. In addition, tipster Mukul Sharma claimed that the Nothing Phone (1) is in the final stages of internal testing in the country, which indicates it won’t take long for it to go official.

As far as global launch is concerned, Sharma said that its batch production has started in various European and Asian markets. The below-shown tweet shows that the device with model number A063 is also listed on Flipkart. So just as the Nothing ear (1) TWS earbuds, the company’s first smartphone could be exclusively available through Flipkart.

Unfortunately, there is no word yet on the specifications of the Nothing Phone (1). Speculations are rife that it may feature a flagship chipset. It will probably run on the Android 12 OS, which will be overlaid with the Nothing OS UI.

The new OS will not have any bloatware and will work efficiently with devices from other ecosystems. The Nothing Phone (1) will be treated with years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security patches. It appears that the company will be confirming more details about the device in the coming days.
