Last month, OnePlus announced the first Ace-branded smartphone, called the OnePlus Ace, in China. In the previous week, the company confirmed that it would be announcing a new Ace-series phone called the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition on May 19. Here’s all the information on how to watch its launch event.
OnePlus Ace Racing Edition launch event: how to watch it?
The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is scheduled to go official at 7 PM (local time) on May 17. Since it is a China launch, its launch event will be live-streamed through the company’s Weibo handle.
The OnePlus Ace was rebranded as the OnePlus 10R 5G. It remains to be seen whether the Racing Edition device will arrive in other markets with a different moniker.
OnePlus Ace Racing Edition specifications (Rumored)
The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is expected to arrive with a 6.59-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. It will run on the Android 12 OS and ColorOS UI. For security, it will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Dimensity 8100 Max chipset will power the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition. The device is expected to arrive in multiple variants, such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. It will pack a 5,000 mAh battery. However, there is no word on its fast charging capabilities.
The Racing Edition phone will sport a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Its rear camera setup will include a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel camera. At present, there is no word on the price of the device. The official renders of the phone have revealed that it will come in black and blue colors.
