The RedmiBook 15 will be officially on sale in Malaysia from June 6th onwards via Xiaomi’s official online channels via Lazada and Shoppe and Xiaomi’s official offline retail stores as well. Surprisingly, the RedmiBook 15 is coming with 2 different processor configurations in the country, as opposed to 1 option only in Indonesian markets. The official retail prices of the RedmiBook 15 series in Malaysia is as follows:

  • Intel Core i3-1115G4, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD – RM 2,399 (547 USD)
  • Intel Core i5-11300H, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM 2,799 (638 USD)

However, for the early bird promotional launch sale, Xiaomi is discounting the devices by up to RM500 from June 6th to June 30th. Buyers who bought the RedmiBook 15 laptop at offline retail stores also get a free Mi Casual Backpack (worth RM69 / 16 USD) as part of the early bird launch sale. The early bird prices of the RedmiBook 15 laptop configurations are:

The RedmiBook 15 is the company’s first-ever laptop in the country and surprisingly this is the first time Xiaomi has launched the Intel Core i5-11300H quad-core CPU in its RedmiBook 15 lineup. The other configuration, the Intel Core i3-1115G4 was already seen before in the Chinese, Indian and Indonesian markets.

The screen of the RedmiBook 15 is a 15.6-inch FHD IPS LCD Display that has a 720p webcam housed above it. The device is housed within a thin and lightweight metal chassis, that only weighs in at 1.8 kilograms and 19.9 millimetres. It features a 2W stereo speaker setup and a large touchpad.

The RedmiBook 15 has a 46Wh battery that Xiaomi claims can deliver up to 10 hours of battery life. Unfortunately, the laptop does not charge via USB-C. Instead, a barrel-plug charger is included in the box. Xiaomi claims that with the bundled charger in the box, you can juice up 50% of the battery in just 33 minutes.

Ports and connectivity-wise, the RedmiBook 15 only supports the older WiFi 5 standard and has one HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 connectors, one Ethernet port, one USB 2.0 connector, one 3.5 mm headphone jack and one SD card reader.
