The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro will be the names of the next Samsung smart wearables. The latest update of the Samsung health app has provided some clarity on the naming pattern of the Galaxy Watch 5 series. The update which could point to an imminent launch of the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro models, also indicates the absence of the classic model in the Watch 5 lineup.
The Galaxy Watch 4 beta update for the Samsung Health app has added support for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. The Galaxy Watch 4 beta update does not provide any significant changes to its features. There was no mention of the Galaxy Watch 5 Classic in the health update. It is most probable that the classic model will not be part of the new Watch 5 series. There’s a precedent because Samsung acted similarly before the launch of the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
Rumors around the Galaxy Watch 5 have been rife before now. Some tipsters have commented that the Watch 5 Pro will not have a rotating bezel. Samsung is also rumored to have used durable materials like sapphire glass and titanium to offer improved protection. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is certainly the higher of the two models and it has a premium look.
There are no specifics yet on the rollout of the Galaxy Watch 5 series. In the case of the Galaxy Watch 4, the health app update preceded the launch by a month.
