Popular tipster Evan Blass’ new report on Motorola’s roadmap of upcoming smartphones reveals that the company is working on a couple of new phones for this year. Tundra is said to be the codename of the upcoming Edge series flagship powered by the older Snapdragon 888 Plus chip. Devon, Vaui, and Victoria are the codenames of the other upcoming Motorola phones. The report also reveals the specifications of the Motorola Bronco and Canyon, which are said to be next-generation flagship phones powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It is likely that the Bronco and Canyon may end up as the Edge 40 Pro in the global markets.

Alleged Motorola Edge 40 Pro specifications (rumored)

According to Blass, the Motorola Canyon and Bronco are next-generation flagships with similar specifications. Both models are said to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship mobile chipset, which has an SM8550 part number. The SoC will likely be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 when it debuts later this year.

The Canyon variant will feature an FHD+ display that supports a refresh rate of 165Hz. It will have a 60-megapixel front-facing camera, and its rear camera setup will have a 50-megapixel main camera a 50-megapixel ultra-wide snapper, which can double up as a macro sensor, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. It appears that the Canyon model may debut as the Edge 40 Pro.

There is a possibility that the Bronco model may arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. It will also feature an FHD+ display. For selfies, it will have a 16-megapixel front camera. The rear camera setup of the Bronco model will have a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide/macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The report also claims that Motorola will launch its rumored Felix and Juno codenamed phones. The former will have a vertical rollable display, whereas the latter will be a follow-up to the Motorola Razr 3, which will offer key features such as a 144Hz refresh rate display and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip.
