US PC-maker Dell has added the Alienware m17 and x17 models to its lineup of gaming laptops. The models are enhanced versions of the Alienware m17 R5 and x17 R2 laptops. They have 17-inch screens with a high refresh rate of 480Hz. Also available is the AMD Advantage Edition of the Alienware m17 R5.
The Alienware m17 and x17 are highlighted by their 480Hz display refresh rates. It offers an exciting application in gaming settings and only a few models are close to 480Hz. Asus recently announced the first desktop monitor to support a 500Hz refresh rate. Both the m17 and x17 support full HD resolution and offer a compelling gaming experience for the gaming enthusiast. They also have a 3ms response time to go with the high refresh rate.
The Alienware m17 and x17 models have powerful CPUs and GPUs, with extended features like Advanced Optimus for higher frame rates. The setting is optimal for older games as well as modern games. The new gaming laptops could also catch the fancy of a wide variety of the gaming public. The AMD Advantage Alienware m17 R5 has both an AMD CPU and GPU. The laptop can be configured to improve its performance and take advantage of Smart Access Memory, AMD Smart Access Graphics, and more.
The new Alienware laptops are sold for between $1,599 and $2,249. However, the new Alienware m17 and x17 with 480Hz refresh rates are far more expensive than the standard models.
