A couple of weeks ago, Xiaomi launched its latest flagship smartphone under the Xiaomi 12 lineup in its home country China, dubbed as Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The phone also marks a collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra smartphone has been available for purchase in the Chinese market, but there wasn’t any information about its global availability until now. Now, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, has shed more light on its availability.

Lei Jun has taken to Weibo and confirmed that the Xiaomi 12S Ultra will only be sold in the Chinese market and won’t be available for purchase outside of China. However, he added that the next-generation models coming from next year should be sold globally.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra features a 6.73-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display that has a 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1500 nits of peak brightness, and 521ppi pixel density. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
It features a Leica Summicron lens system on the back. The triple-camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 primary sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens. On the front side, the phone comes with a 32-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.
The phone runs the Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 13 custom interface on top. It is powered by a 4,860mAh battery that supports 67W fast wired charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 10W reverse charging.
