OnePlus held a public conversation with 16 participants about four months ago via an Open Ear Forums (OEF). The Chinese smartphone maker focused mostly on the upcoming OxygenOS 13 update in order to have a general understanding of what people are anticipating from the new OS version.

However, nothing specific was revealed following the meeting because whatever the attendees were able to see was covered by an NDA. The good news is that we received a sneak glimpse at some of the potential enhancements we could anticipate thanks to OnePlus’ follow-up proposals.

Recent modifications to the lock screen and always-on display were at least hinted at in a very brief teaser video that OnePlus provided on Twitter. A brief written caption that reads “It’s bold, it’s flowing, it’s coming soon” is also included with the film, and it may be a hint at the enhanced system consistency and optimization that was addressed in the March conversation.

The brief teaser first displays a number of oval shapes that are supposed to symbolize OxygenOS 13’s general aesthetic. Hopefully, this links up with enhanced UI uniformity and personalization.

The always-on-display-related enhancements, though, are the most noticeable and obvious. A full-featured music player with media controls and a picture of the track’s cover image is now supported by AOD. Nevertheless, that widget could vary based on the program you are using to stream audio.

The Canvas AOD function that we are familiar with from prior OnePlus phones is then depicted, though it is difficult to see if there have been any changes. The Insight AOD, which can show your phone usage, date, time, and more, is also shown at the very end, but there is nothing new added.
