Lenovo has officially announced the new Legion Y70 smartphone today, the company has also confirmed that the new Legion handset will be launched in August. The device is expected to have a thinner and lighter design and the company claims it will offer powerful performance. Lenovo Legion Y70 has already been listed on Geekbench and CMIIT certification sites.

Lenovo took to Weibo to announce the latest Lenovo Legion Y70. The company shared a poster revealing the rear camera module of the smartphone and also confirmed that it will debut sometime in August. The poster suggests that the smartphone will have a triple rear camera setup fitted on a rectangular island. The poster also reveals that the smartphone will have a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS.

As mentioned, the device has already been spotted on Geekbench and the CMIIT website which revealed all of its major specifications. Lenovo Legion Y70 will likely be equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED screen offering a resolution of 2400 × 1080.

In terms of optics, the device will have a rear 50-megapixel triple camera setup and could support 8K video recording. It may be fueled by a 4880mAh battery supporting 68W fast charging. The device is expected to have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone will be 7.99mm thick and weigh 205g. It is said to be available in two color options- grey and silver.

The processor of the device is uncertain because CMIIT shows that the phone uses a 3.0GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip, but the Geekbench 5 running score indicates it is a 3.2GHz Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 Soc. It will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chip paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
