The electric scooter market is on an upswing move with a raft of new entrants into the scene. Razer has teamed up with NIU to announce the NIU X Razer SQi Edition electric scooter. The model sports a distinct and appealing design and is a culmination of the Razer-NIU collaboration.
The NIU-Razer e-scooter was released on August 2 in China. It is a limited-edition smart e-scooter with a top speed of 25km/h. It weighs about 50kg and is well-suited for daily urban commutes with a range of 65km. The e-scooter looks incredible and could be a strong reason for ditching public transport altogether. Razer and NIU are strong brands and this collaboration could be a win-win situation for both brands. It is expected that the Razer-NIU partnership will blossom further with more niche offerings on the way. Many of the specs of the new e-scooter are still unclear.
Super excited to announce that we’ve partnered up with @niumobility on a limited-edition NIU X Razer SQi Edition electric scooter. Demand for it has been overwhelming; we’ve released it yesterday in China and it was all sold out in just 2 seconds! pic.twitter.com/m966byIUpG

The e-scooter is currently only available in China but it has enjoyed an overwhelming demand. According to Razer’s CEO, the new e-scooter sold out within a couple of seconds after its China release. There are no indications at this time whether the availability of the scooter will be scaled up beyond China.
The NIU X Razer SQi Edition retailed in China for 9,999 yuan (~$1,482) and its instant appeal in China could indicate its exquisiteness. Being a limited-edition e-scooter, neither NIU nor Razer have hinted whether more units are expected. Delivery information is also lacking at this time.
