An Android tablet with excellent features atop its affordability is a decent proposition from LG. Recall that the Korean company exited the smartphone market a few years back. The LG Ultra Tab is a new Snapdragon 680-powered tablet just announced by the company in Korea. It has a 10.35-inch 2K display, and quad speakers. The new tablet will run on Android 12 out of the box.
The Ultra Tab is a successor to the G Pad series and features a 7.1mm ultra-slim metal body, a 7,040mAh battery, and 8MP/ 5MP rear/ front camera setup. The Ultra Tab has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card. The 8MP rear camera is capable of autofocus while the front camera is a fixed focus sensor. Each of the quad 1W speakers of the Ultra Tab combines to deliver a decent audio output. The device also has a 3.5mm audio jack.
The new LG Android tablet has military-grade MIL-STD-810G durability certification and supports 25W fast charging. A Folio case and Wacom Stylus Pen are offered as part of the accessories of the tablet. Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity are supported in the tablet.
Availability of the LG Ultra Tab is limited at this time to its home market of South Korea. It is priced at KRW 426,000 (~$327). However, the new LG Android tablet is expected to make a global debut subsequently. It currently comes in a single color – Charcoal Grey. Buyers in South Korea can purchase the Ultra Tab from LG’s website with a discount of KRW 50,000 ($38.35) open to members.
