Chinese EV brand Wuling is stepping up its acts by entering the global market. The company is the culmination of a partnership between SGMW and General Motors. It has just unveiled the Air EV in Indonesia, marking its first foray outside China.

Within the past five years, Wuling has grown in prominence in the Chinese EV market. It has sold over 1 million units of its EVs in China since 2017. The company also has plans to deliver the Air EV in other markets like India and Egypt later this year. Going forward, Wuling plans to expand to other global markets.

During the unveiling of the Air EV in Indonesia, Wuling showcased its success in China which is now spreading to other countries. The Air EV was also endorsed as the official car of the G20 Summit. The Wuling Air EV is a 2-door electric vehicle designed primarily for city driving. It is being showcased for its easy operability and low upfront cost. It has a single 40HP electric motor and a range of 186 miles. The Air EV has had a very successful run in China. Wuling says it offers a superior-quality travel experience and reflects Wuling’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

There are no indications yet when the first deliveries of the Air EV will be made to Indonesian customers. The global price of the Air EV is also expected to be different from its China price.
