Google has officially launched the Android 13 OS upgrade. Its stable version is now available for Pixel smartphones. Some other smartphone OEMs will also start rolling out the Android 13 OS upgrade in the coming weeks. Now, Xiaomi has released the Android 13 beta version for global editions of the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

The Android 13 beta, which is based on MIUI 13, is being rolled out to the first 200 users of the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. To get the details of the OTA update, users need to follow a special Telegram channel. As it is known, the Xiaomi Mi Community is not accessible in India.

To install the update, Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are required to be running on MIUI Global Stable ROM and their users need to Mi Community members and have a Mi account.

As always, it is recommended to back up the data before installing the Android 13 beta on Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. The MIUI 13.0.4.0 TLCMIXM version is being made available for Xiaomi 12 users, whereas the MIUI 13.0.4.0 TLBMIXM is being rolled out for users of the Pro model. The size of the update is 4.23 GB, which also includes the August security update.

People who wish to try the Android 13 beta on their Xiaomi 12 / 12 Pro units should note that they are likely to encounter bugs since it is not a stable release. Users are advised to visit an authorized Xiaomi service centre if the device does not start after installing the update. Once the company irons out all the issues from the beta version, it will roll out the stable. But the company hasn’t confirmed a specific timeframe for it.
