Recent reports have revealed that Vivo is working on the Vivo X Fold S foldable phone. The moniker of the device suggests that it will be an improved version of the company’s first foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold, which went official in April this year. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Panda is Bald, has revealed the key specifications of the device.

According to the source, the Vivo X Fold S will have three major improvements over the X Fold. The leak revealed that the foldable phone will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, a 4,700mAh battery, and 80W wired charging. In comparison, the X Fold offered the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a 4,600mAh battery, and 66W fast charging. It appears the other specifications of the X Fold S will be identical to the X Fold.

The Vivo X Fold foldable phone features an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED display with LTPO technology. It supports 1916 x 2160 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+. On the front, it features a 6.53-inch AMOLED cover display that supports 1080 x 2520 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset-powered X Fold has 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256 GB / 512 GB of storage, and a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.

The X Fold’s front features a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The rear shell of the device has a 50-megapixel main camera with laser autofocus and OIS, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 5x optical zoom.

A recent report claimed that the Vivo X Fold S would debut in September. It is believed that the company is reportedly working on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered flagship, which may debut in November or December of this year.
