POCO M5 and M5s smartphones have launched today. The former has debuted in India while the latter has been announced for the global market. The POCO M5 also borrows the same back panel design from the M4 Pro 5G. Meanwhile, the POCO M5s is a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 10S. Read on to know what both devices offer out of the box. 

POCO M5 and M5s

Beginning with the POCO M5, it has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display bearing a waterdrop notch, a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen is shielded by Gorilla Glass 3. The device supports Widevine L1 certification for streaming HD content on OTT platforms. The smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. 

On the optics front, the POCO M5 features a 50MP primary sensor paired with 2MP depth and 2MP macro lenses. It has an 8MP front-facing selfie camera. 

Under the hood, the POCO M5 is powered by an Helio G99 chipset paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage with support for a microSD card slot. The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. 

As for the POCO M5s, the device comes with a centre-aligned punch-hole AMOLED display measuring 6.43-inches. The smartphone sports a quad-rear camera setup comprising a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth lens. There is a 13MP selfie camera on the front. 

Internally, the POCO M5s is equipped with an Helio G96 chipset. It packs 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage onboard. The device draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 33W fast charging. 

In India, the POCO M5 starts at Rs 10,499 for the base 4GB + 64GB variant and the 6GB + 128GB option costs Rs 12,499. The device will go on sale from Flipkart starting September 23rd. On the other hand, the POCO M5s costs EUR 209 ($207) and EUR 229 (~$227) for the 4GB + 64GB and 4GB +128GB variants respectively. The 6GB + 128GB configurations costs EUR 249 (~$246).
