Microsoft has announced a new Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. It is dubbed as Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core. The latest offering is cheaper and prettier compared to the existing Elite 2. Notably, the controller is the same one that was leaked in an unboxing video last month.

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core features a dual-tone design. It has a White face plate and Black analogue sticks. The controller’s grip is also in Black colour. In terms of core design, the latest offering does not appear different compared to past Elite controllers. It features adjustable tension thumbsticks, wraparound rubberized grip, and shorter hair trigger locks. Microsoft claims that the controller is capable of delivering up to 40 hours of battery life.

Apart from the redesign, the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core does not ship with interchangeable components. However, the complete component pack can be purchased separately. It consists of a carrying case, a charging dock, two classic thumbsticks, a tall thumbstick, a dome thumbstick, cross-shaped D-pad, four paddles, and a USB-C cable.

The new Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core is up for pre-order starting today at $130 and shipments will commence from September 21st. The Components Pack costs $59.99.
