Back in 2021, Xiaomi launched a female-focused series of smartphones called Xiaomi CIVI. The latest entrant to the series was the CIVI 1S, which was launched in April as an upgrade over the original model, carrying an improved chip and a new color option. According to a report, the tech giant is now working on the next-generation Xiaomi CIVI 2, which has also received CMIIT certification today, suggesting it will launch soon.

Noted tipster Mukul Sharma has spotted the Xiaomi CIVI 2 on China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT) website. The smartphone has been listed on the site with model number 2209129SC.

The listing also reveals some obvious information about the smartphone like it will support 5G connectivity and have a dual sim card option. The device will be running on Android OS (of course), likely the Android 12 with MIUI skin on top.

Rumors suggest the upcoming Xiaomi CIVI 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. For reference, the CIVI 1 came with a Snapdragon 778G SoC, and the CIVI 1S featured Snapdragon 778G+ chip.

In addition, the CIVI 2 is said to sport a 120Hz OLED panel offering a Full HD+ resolution and Dolby Vision. It will likely have a curved AMOLED panel just like the existing CIVI models. The OLED panel may feature a fingerprint scanner for security.

The camera details of the device are yet to be known but it will likely arrive with a solid camera setup. To recall, the CIVI 1S has a triple rear camera setup comprising of an OIS-enabled 64MP primary shooter, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, it boasts a 32MP Sony IMX616 snapper with autofocus and dual soft light.
