In recent years, Apple had started to diversify its supply chain and moved production for its products like the iPhones from China to other regions like India. Now, it appears that the company also plans to move some production of the AirPods and Beats as well to the region.

The news arrives from a Reuters report, which stated that the Cupertino based giant is preparing to make new Beats headphones in India. Furthermore, the iPhone maker is apparently also planning on moving some AirPods production to the country as well, as per sources close to the matter. Reportedly, Luxshare Precision Industry, a Chinese supplier of Apple, also has plans to begin begins production for AirPods in India.

On the other hand, Foxconn will be responsible for manufacturing Beats headphones in the region. As of right now, Luxshare is focusing on raising the production of AirPods in Vietnam, so it might be slower in moving its operations to India. The company has been planning on shifting some of its production from China already, with the latest model being the iPhone 14 series that is set to manufacture in the nation soon.

Apple has been working on reducing its dependence on China, which is its primary manufacturing hub. Since then, its focusing on regions like India, Mexico, and Vietnam, where some of its major suppliers have been setting up their operations. Production in India will also help the company avoid duties, which should lower their price tag as well.
