Indian companies Wings and Optiemus Electronics have inked a partnership that will lead to the manufacture of TWS earbuds, soundbars, speakers, as well as computer and gaming accessories in India. The devices will be produced in Optiemus’ cutting-edge facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh with a capacity to manufacture 1.5 million TWS earbuds each month. The production of the made-in-India TWS earbuds will commence soon while other products like keyboards, soundbars, speakers, and gaming accessories will subsequently follow.Wings

According to Wing’s CEO, Nohit Sharma, the brand is one of the best in the audio and gaming gear segment. It is adding more value to its product offerings by manufacturing the devices in India. The move is a massive boost for the central government’s effort to stimulate investment and employment through the Make in India initiative. Wings say it wants its Indian gamers to revel in the pride of using accessories locally made.

Optiemus CEO, Nitesh Gupta expressed excitement at the partnership with Wings. He says both parties will leverage their strengths in the Indian wearables/ hearables market to further expand their market share. Optiemus is a leading local manufacturer of smartwatches. Its smartwatch brands accounted for 75% of shipments as per the recent Counterpoint report. The financial component of the partnership was not divulged by both parties.
