The rumor mill is gradually revealing details about the upcoming Vivo X90 series. In April, Vivo unveiled the Vivo X80 and X80 Pro in China. Within a few months, both devices were made available in markets outside China. Chinese tipsters have claimed that the Vivo X90 lineup will break cover in the home market before the end of this year. Now, another tipster has claimed that it will go official in December.

Vivo launched the Vivo S12 series in December 2021 in China. Earlier this year, the Vivo S15 series was made official in the home market. Some may expect the Vivo S16 lineup to debut in December this year. However, tipster Assen has claimed that Vivo will not be launching the S16 lineup this year.

He stated that the Vivo X90 series will be the brand’s next major launch event. Instead of the S16 series, the company will unveil the X90 lineup in December this year.

According to the tipster, the product lifecycle of the Vivo X80 series will come to an end in December. He further said Vivo and OPPO are known for taking around a month to clear the existing inventory before announcing a new series. However, the X90 series will be unveiled in December as soon as the X80 lineup’s inventory is cleared.

The tipster did not share information on the specifications of the Vivo X90 lineup. Rumors are rife that the Vivo X90 Pro+ will come with specifications like an AMOLED display with curved edges, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 / MediaTek’s new Dimensity flagship chip, Vivo V2 ISP, LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. Its camera setup will have a 1-inch camera sensor, an ultra-wide shooter, and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

The X90 Pro is also expected to come with an AMOLED screen with curved edges, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a 1-inch camera sensor with Vivo V2 ISP, and a 4,780mAh battery with 100W charging. The X90 is likely to house a 4,700mAh battery.
