Oppo is working on a new premium mid-range smartphone called the Oppo Reno 9. Leaks regarding the upcoming device have already started to surface, revealing some key specifications along with the retail box of the Reno 9. Now, another such leak has hinted at the camera array design of the smartphone.

Popular Weibo tipster @熊猫很禿然 has shared an image showing the camera island of the upcoming Reno 9.

The overall camera design appears to be the same as the last generation, with two large cutouts and one small cutout. In addition to a ring flash, the image reveals another flash module, likely with a different color temperature. Details regarding the cameras are still largely unknown, but a previous leak suggests that the device might feature a 64MP primary sensor. It remains to be seen if this is an improvement or a downgrade compared to the current Reno 8, which uses the tried-and-tested Sony IMX766 sensor.

Other than the camera, the leaks suggest that the device will be equipped with the Snapdragon 778G chipset. The Reno 8 Pro, on the other hand, can break cover with the Dimensity 8100 onboard. Additionally, the Pro model is also said to have a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for the primary camera. The last bit of information available on the devices states that they could feature 4,500mAh capacity batteries.

The Reno 9 series will likely debut in Q4 this year in China. So, we expect more details to emerge very soon.
