Apple products are among the best in the world presently. That is why the iPhone and other products are well sought after. The company is also a benchmark for other brands who are quick to compare their flagship products with Apple’s. That was apparently what a Google Pixel social media handler was trying to do when he hopped into a post by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook.

Tim Cook had teased the M2 iPad Pro launch in his post but the handler didn’t realize that he was still logged into Twitter from an iPhone. He then posted a comment promoting the Pixel phone.

The post was quickly deleted but not before it was spotted by some eagle-eyed netizens. 3D artist Ian Zelbo, who is well-known on Twitter for his highly-detailed iPad and iPhone renders shared a screenshot of the post before it was deleted. Obviously, a lot of other people had seen it.

This is not the first time a rival brand has been spotted promoting their gadget on social media using an iPhone. In 2018, Samsung promoted the display of its then-newest flagship, the Galaxy Note 9, using Twitter for iPhone. The company’s social media team made a similar error early last year when they used an iPhone to announce a Galaxy Unpacked event. Huawei has also been caught in this web in the past.

This is coming not too long after HP published an advertisement for “The perfect laptop” but the ad mistakenly carries a macOS screenshot.
