Ulefone is one of the rising brands in the rugged smartphone market and is known to manufacture some of the most quirky devices in the segment. Be it the world’s loudest smartphone or a rugged smartphone with an in-built TWS earbuds holder. The brand has now launched the Ulefone Armor 17 Pro, which it claims is a luxury rugged smartphone. So, let’s check out what makes it special.

Usually, rugged devices primarily focus on being tough as nails with various professional- or military-grade ingress-protection ratings. Making the devices tough usually comes at the expense of features one would usually expect from a modern smartphone. However, the Armor 17 Pro does not make this compromise as it still features a 6.58-inch LCD display with FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2408) and 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a water-drop notch that houses a 16MP camera system.

The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, while the body of the device boasts the traditional rugged IP68/69K/MIL-STD-810G certifications. Under the hood, the smartphone has the MediaTek Helio G99, which is a 6 nm-based chipset with improved energy efficiency. The device has a 5,380mAh battery, which is not among the highest capacities one could get on a rugged device, however, it has 66W fast charging and 15W wireless charging which are quite rare features in this segment.

For optics, the device features a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor paired with Ulefone’s night vision sensors. The device has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and virtual RAM expansion is possible up to 5GB. This configuration of the Armor 17 Pro has a price tag of US$499.98 and can be purchased via AliExpress.
