Earlier this month, Redmi launched the Redmi Pad in multiple markets including India and Europe. Now, at the Redmi Note 12 series launch event in China, the device has also reached the domestic market. For those unaware, the Redmi Pad is an entry-level Android tablet with an attractive spec sheet that includes a high-resolution display, a decent chipset, and a large battery.

The Redmi Pad features a slim, boxy design with flat edges. It has a large 10.6-inch IPS LCD panel that can display over 1 billion colors. This display has a 2K resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness offered by the slate is 400 nits and it also boasts SGS eye protection and TUV Rheinland certification. The Widevine L1 certification of the tablet ensures users can get access to higher resolutions on popular OTT platforms like Netflix.

The Redmi Pad is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, which is an efficient 6nm chip and packs a decent punch in gaming applications. The slate gets up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further bumped up by 1TB using a microSD card.

The tablet contains an 8-megapixel camera with a built-in document scanner on the back and an 8-megapixel selfie camera with a wide field of view (FOV) of 105 degrees on the front. The Redmi Pad has a quad-speaker system for audio, which also supports Dolby Atmos.

It is powered by a large 8,000mAh battery pack that supports 18W fast charging. Other features include Bluetooth 5.3 support, dual-band WiFi 5 connectivity, and Android 12 OS out of the box.

The Redmi Pad can be pre-ordered in the country for just 1,099 Yuan ($152), and the open sales will begin on October 31, 2022. It will ship in gray, green, or silver colorways.
