Last month, Microsoft debuted the new Surface Laptop 5 and the Surface Pro 9 2-in-1 tablets in multiple markets. The devices are soon to be made available in India as the company has opened pre-orders for them. Let’s take a look at the pricing and availability details along with the deals offered by the brand on these devices.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 and Surface Pro 9 Pricing and availability
Starting today, both the Surface Laptop 5 and Surface Pro 9 are available for pre-order in India via authorized retailers such as Amazon.in, Reliance Digital, Croma, Vijay Sales, and select multi-brand stores.
The Surface Laptop 5 has a starting price of Rs 1,07,999 and goes all the way up to Rs 1,90,699 for the top configuration. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 9 has a starting price of Rs 1,05,999 and goes up to 2,69,599 for the top-end configuration. Customers who purchase a Surface Pro 9 will receive a complimentary Surface Pro Keyboard (black) worth Rs. 14,999, while those who purchase a Surface Laptop 5 will receive a complimentary Surface Pop red Arc Mouse valued at Rs. 7,499 each. The devices will start retailing from November 29 in the country.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 specifications and features
A 13.5-inch and 15-inch screen size are available for the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5. The PixelSense display on the device has a resolution of 2256 x 1504 pixels, a 3:2 aspect ratio, a contrast ratio of 1300:1, and Dolby Vision IQ compatibility. The machine has Windows 11 preinstalled.
The Intel Core i5-1235U/i7-1255U processor is included in the 13.5-inch Surface Laptop, while the Core i7-1255U chip is included in the 15-inch model. All models have 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of SSD storage and 8 GB, 16 GB, or 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM.
Battery life for the 13.5-inch model is up to 18 hours, while that for the bigger variant is up to 17 hours. It has one USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB-A port, one Surface Connect port, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, and Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. Other features include support for the Surface Pen, Windows Hello facial sign-in, Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Atmos, and dual far-field microphones. The 13.5-inch model also has a keyboard finish made of Alcantara.
Microsoft Surface Pro 9 specifications and features
The Surface Pro 9 features a 13-inch display with 2,880 x 1,920 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 3:2 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device features the Intel Alder Lake-U processor, nemely the Core i5-1235U or the Core i7-1255U. The company offers 28 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage options in addition to 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM for the device.
The Surface Pro 9 supports both Windows Hello facial authentication and Microsoft’s Surface Connect port. Despite the Surface Pro 9 having two USB Type-C ports (USB 4.0/Thunderbolt 4), there is no 3.5 mm headphone jack.
According to Microsoft, The 47.7 Wh battery on the Surface Pro 9 should last up to 15:30 hours with typical usage. The device comes in the typical Platinum, Sapphire, Forest, and Graphite colours.
