Last year, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Pad 5 series of tablets in China, which later debuted in multiple markets around the globe. The series consists of three models in total – Xiaomi Pad 5, Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4. The brand is rumored to be working on its next series of tablets, dubbed the Xiaomi Pad 6 series.

So far, a few rumors regarding the device have emerged on the internet, giving information on what specifications it could debut with. Now, Xiaomiui has published a new report after digging through the MIUI codes and has found two upcoming tablets with codenames pipa and liuqin.

According to reports, the pipa and liuqin will debut as the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, respectively. The Xiaomi Pad 6 series tablets are anticipated to launch in the first half of 2023. However, China will be the only country where the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro will be released. The report also shared the specifications of these upcoming tablets, which you can check out below.

Xiaomi Pad 6 (Pipa) specs

According to Xiaomiui, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor will power the Xiaomi Pad 6. This is the same chipset that powers the current Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro as well as the Oppo Pad, Vivo Pad, and Lenovo Legion Tab Y700.

Compared to the Pad 5, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 will be a big improvement. For those who don’t know, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 CPU powers the Xiaomi Pad 5. Xiaomiui additionally states that the Xiaomi Pad 6 will be released in China, India, and other international regions, bearing model number M82. The Xiaomi Pad 6 is anticipated to have a 120Hz refresh rate display.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro (Liuqin) specs

According to rumors, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU will power the Xiaomi Pad 6. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a powerful 4nm flagship-tier chipset from Qualcomm, which was recently succeeded by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. That being said, the inclusion of this chipset means that it will be among the most powerful android tablets on the market and will likely be quite popular with gamers due to the excellent GPU performance of the chipset. The report further claims that the device will feature a 120Hz AMOLED display with 1880 × 2880 pixel resolution.
