In October, iQOO unveiled the iQOO Neo 7 as the world’s first phone with the Dimensity 9000 Plus chip onboard. At the beginning of this month, the iQOO Neo 7 SE went official as the first-ever Dimensity 8200v-powered device. The third member of the Neo 7 family will be the upcoming iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition, which will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Here is how to watch its launch event.

The iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition will be announced at 7 pm (local time) on Dec. 29, in China. The launch event will be livestreamed through iQOO’s Weibo handle.

iQOO has confirmed only a few details, such as the chipset, battery, and charging capabilities of the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition. However, the TENAA listing of the device has revealed almost everything about it. At TENAA, the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition has appeared with the V2232A model number.

The iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition will measure 164.81 x 76.9 x 8.85mm and weigh around 197 grams. It will house a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that produces a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It is expected to support up to a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-poweed device will arrive with 8 GB / 12 GB / 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. When it comes to storage, it will offer options like 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device will house a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The company claims that it takes around 8 minutes for the phone to go from 0 to 50 percent using the 120W charger.

For selfies, the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition will have a 16-megapixel front camera. Its back panel will feature an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro / depth camera.

The Neo 7 Racing Edition will offer other features like an IR blaster, 5G connectivity, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. At present, there is no word on the price of the device. The device is expected to compete with the likes of the Redmi K60 Pro, Realme GT Neo 5, and OnePlus Ace 2.
