We have already covered various reports regarding the Apple iPhone 15 series that is set to launch later this year. However, prior to its release, another report has hinted at some of its major upcoming changes.

For those unaware, the iPhone 15 Pro series is expected to bring various major design changes, marking the first notable overhaul in a while for the Cupertino based giant’s iPhone series. Similar to how the brand removed headphone jacks in the past, it appears that the next move is to remove all forms oh physical button on the devices. Known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously claimed that the iPhone 15 models will ditch the physical buttons for a solid state button design.

This would basically mimic the feel of an actual button without actually having these moving parts. Now, he has reiterated this claim as well. Apparently, the company plans on replacing these physical buttons like volume rockers and power buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. In a new tweet, Kuo stated that these solid state buttons will be equipped with a Taptic Engines, which would enable them to offer a physical button like force feedback.

Meaning, it would feel like a real button is being pressed. Furthermore, he also revealed that Cirrus Logic is the primary supplier for this new technology and is making the Taptic Engine’s controller IC for solid state buttons. If these design changes are well received by users, Kuo believes that Apple might expand it to other high end products in the future.
