Samsung recently filed to trademark a new display technology called Lifelike Pixels, which could offer better color reproduction and wider viewing angles than current OLED displays. Here are the details…

Samsung is working on Lifelike Pixels for OLED screens

Samsung has applied for trademark registration for a new display technology called Lifelike Pixels. The application, filed by Samsung Display department and probably the technology will be used in OLED screens and tablet. However, the technology also has the potential to be used in other devices, such as AR/VR display laptops and smart watches.

Samsung lifelike pixel trademark

The trademark registration for Lifelike Pixels was filed on the same day that Samsung filed to trademark Flex Hybrid, a new type of display that folds and slides at the same time. The technology is designed for future laptops that can be folded into smaller sizes. Samsung also shows three additional display panels:

  • Flex In
  • Out Flex Slidable Duet
  • Flex Slideable Solo.

It’s unclear exactly how the Lifelike Pixels technology works, but it could have something to do with improved color reproduction over OLED displays. This would be a major improvement over Samsung’s already excellent OLED technology, know for its high contrast ratio and wide viewing angles, and fast response times.

In conclusion, Samsung‘s application for the Lifelike Pixels trademark indicates that the company is working on a new display technology that will be used in future products. While we don’t yet know exactly what technology, it may improve the color reproduction of OLED displays. We Can expect to see this feature used in the upcoming Samsung devices, and it could also be supplied to other smartphone manufacturers in the future.
