The Phone Link widget is also customizable. Allowing users to adjust the size and even unpin it from the widget board if desired. This added convenience eliminates the need to constantly open the Phone Link app to check for new notifications. The inclusion of the Phone Link widget in the Windows 11 is a sign that Microsoft is putting more emphasis on widgets.
Initially, only first-party apps were supported on the widget board, but now, with the ability for developers to create widgets for their apps on Windows 11, more options are becoming available. This is demonstrated by the recent addition of the Messenger widget by Meta.
For those who use Phone Link daily to check phone notifications on their Windows 11 PC, the Phone Link widget will likely make things easier and more convenient. It remains to be seen if more app developers will create widgets for Windows 11 users, but the trend seems to be heading in that direction.
