The new rugged laptops from HP have been introduced on the market. The company has released two rugged laptops under the “Fortis” series. The brand made the laptop with the customers of both ChromeOS and Windows in mind, therefore one comes with Windows 11 software and the other with ChromeOS. Both devices are reportedly intended for corporate and educational customers. Each laptop has a durable construction that can survive slight damage. Let’s explore the gadgets’ full specifications and features.

The laptops have a bonded rubber trim to cushion against bumps and drops as well as a spill- and dust-resistant keyboard with mechanically fastened keys to prevent key removal. According to HP, MIL-STD-810H testing is done to assure their endurance. Both have 11.6-inch touchscreen displays, but the Windows-based model has an optional HP Rechargeable Pen, making it easier for users to intuitively sketch and take notes. Additionally, each laptop has a 5MP world-facing camera option and a 720p HD webcam for taking photos and videos.

There are up to four cores and four threads available, and the boost frequency can reach 3.7GHz. Additionally, it may be set up with a 256GB SSD and up to 16GB of RAM.

Furthermore, there are differences in terms of ports. 2X  USB Type-A ports, 1X USB Type-C port, 1X HDMI, 1X RJ45 Ethernet, and a headphone connector are all included in the HP Pro Fortis x360 G11 laptop. The Chromebook variant, on the other hand, forgoes HDMI and RJ45 Ethernet in favour of a second USB Type-C connector. These two laptops are expected to go on sale this month.
