Magic 5 Pro is the higher-end model of the Magic 5 series unveiled by Honor today at the MWC 2023, which is being held in Barcelona, Spain. The smartphone comes with various noteworthy specifications. For one, it packs a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. There’s also a serious camera system that includes three 50MP sensors. Design

Before we lay down the specs, let’s talk a bit about the design of the Magic 5 Pro. It arrives with a circular camera module in the center of the back— a design similar to last year’s lineup. The handset’s chassis is made using a combination of metal and glass and is claimed to be quite durable. It has a curved display on the front with a pill-shaped cutout in the top left corner.

As the brand’s premium flagship, the phone packs cutting-edge hardware. It features a 6.81-inch OLED LPTO display with a refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz. The panel carries HDR10+ support and a maximum brightness of up to 1100 nits.

The Honor Magic 5 Pro boasts Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, coupled with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The handset is fueled by a 5,100mAh battery and supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The photography department of the phone is packed with exciting sensors. The Magic 5 Pro gets a primary 50MP primary camera with OIS support. The main sensor is accompanied by a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The smartphone features a 12MP ultrawide cam and a 3D depth sensor on the front. Additionally, the phones will operate on Magic UI 7.0, which is based on the Android 13 operating system. It packs a under-display fingerprint sensor and is IP68 rated.

Price

The Honor Magic 5 Pro will be offered in multiple colors, cyan, black, orange, and more. The company may have fancier names for these colors. The handset will likely be offered in sole 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration, which will be priced at EUR 1,199 (roughly USD 1,267). Currently, the availability and sale date of the handset has not been announced.
